Badri Pudasaini

Sales & Logistics

Badri was born and raised in Kathmandu, where he still lives today with his wife and young son. He is the Office Manager of Nature Safari Tours, the Kathmandu-based general sales agent handling all local bookings for Koshi Camp. Whether you book your stay at one or both of our wildlife camps though ‘NST’ in Nepal or through our British/European general sales agent (Naturetrek Ltd in the UK), Badri will be there to assist you in Kathmandu with any flights and transfers to Koshi Camp that you might need. He is our ‘Mr Fix-it’ – able to resolve any logistical issue or problem quickly, smoothly and with minimal fuss, such is his range of contacts and experience … and his exceptional organisational skills. He cut his teeth working in Chitwan National Park, where he worked for nine years, rising to become a manager of wildlife camps and lodges there … and his background across both country and city matters within Nepal is invaluable. Although, by his own admission, not a natural ‘birder’ or ‘naturalist’, Badri nonetheless takes a keen interest in the wildlife of Nepal and regularly visits Koshi Camp to ensure our clients are being looked after to the best of our abilities in these remote rural regions. He is a founder, shareholder and director of Koshi Camp Private Limited.

Badri Chaudhary

Ornithologist

Badri Chaudhary was born in Chitwan just a kilometer away from the Royal Chitwan National Park. He started his career with a variety of jobs at Chitwan, however, his keen interest in birds and substantial knowledge has quickly made him an expert birdwatcher. He has visited all the lowland areas for birdwatching on a number of occasions as part of the grassland bird research programme for mist-netting and data collection. He has worked in Koshi since 1993 and with his extensive birding knowledge he was able to cover the whole of the eastern lowlands. He is now with Nature Safari Tours working as a co-leader and is also the manager of the Koshi Camp. Badri has found Wedge-billed Wren Babbler and Asian Glossy Starling as new species for Nepal.

Suchit Basnet

Ornithologist

Was born in the eastern Terai of Nepal and as a science student had a keen interest in all wildlife. After leaving college he worked in a high school in Kathmandu, however, he changed his plans and his wildlife career took off when he started working as a full time naturalist in the Royal Chitwan National Park. Suchit stayed at Chitwan for five years and during that time he accumulated an invaluable knowledge of its flora and fauna. He started work as a full time leader in 1994. Since then his great enthusiasm, cheerful and friendly disposition, together with exceptional knowledge have contributed to many visitors having a successful stay in Nepal. Now ranked as one of the country’s leading naturalists and ornithologists, Suchit leads many of our tours and treks in Nepal. He is a founding member of Nature Safari Tours and works for the company full time. Suchit has found more then 6 new species of birds for Nepal. The sub-species of Rufous-vented Prinia Prinia burnesii nepalicola, which he and Badri Chaudhary found at Koshi Tappu in April 2005, was a sub-species new to science!
